Yoga + Accessibility

-

at Kula Yoga Project (SoHo) (481 Broadway, 3rd floor
(Grand & Broome) Manhattan, NY 10013)

Yoga teachers may be able to put their legs behind their heads and fly like fireflies in arm balances but, what about their students? Every student will have postures that are relatively easy to access and others that remain elusive. Everyone at some point will have conditions, illnesses or limitations that require thinking their practice differently. Using props like blocks and belts, standing next to walls or sitting in chairs and revolving postures in space can make positions approachable for almost all students. In this 2-hour workshop, learn the basics of making even the most complicated asanas accessible. Open to both teachers and students. 6 months of practice recommended.
