(Suggested props: 2-3blocks, 1 strap, and a blanket if you like knee padding. At the very end of class we do a reclining supported shoulder stand; if you have a bolster grab it or use two rolled blankets, otherwise you can also skip this pose and take legs up the wall or legs up in the air instead).

Spread the space between the shoulder head and the breastbone/sternum so that you aerate your armpits and make your backbend magnificent! You will work hands on different level blocks in initial belly backbends, as well as blackbody strengthening. Class ends with an inversion and then a reclining supported shoulder stand. Bliss!

(Int/Adv) Kula Flow is vinyasa (or flow) style yoga with an emphasis on creativity and alignment. Classes are inventive and thoughtful sequences of sun salutations, standing & seated postures, back bending, and inversions—guided by a steady breath to tone and calm the mind. Most teachers also use bandha work to open and strengthen the inner body. (Classes differ in tone and vigor depending on the teacher, so if you have special needs/interests please contact [email protected].) For students with a regular yoga practice.
